I couldn’t let today end without doing a 9/02/10 post. I grew up loving the show and still love the thought of “Donna & David!” Their wedding is considered one of the most memorable tv weddings ever, duh! Anytime I am flipping through the channels and I notice the reruns are close to the wedding – I start watching everyday! Just typing this makes me want to run out and buy the whole series on dvd. Below is a clip from the wedding – don’t tell me you don’t shed a tear when watching this… sit back and go back 10 years in time to watch David Silver and Donna Martin.
I have now done a wedding at all 3 local State Parks. Lure Lodge, Dale Hollow and Cumberland Falls are seriously some of the most accommodating folks ever and the meals are wonderful! However, I believe the only vendor from this past Saturday that wasn’t a #cwu3 vendor was Dale Hollow – maybe we can change that soon ;). Once Ms Kellie gets the pictures done, I’ll post some official ones and do a run through of the awesome vendors, but in the mean time here’s a sneak peek! Huge thanks to my assistant Hensley for taking these too, she’s awesome!

Yesterday I got my first opportunity to do a wedding at Cave Hill Vineyards, a new outdoor venue in Somerset. I’ll do an official real weddings blog once I have the official pictures, but I just wanted to show off some snap shots that Ms. Hensley took yesterday, that show what the vineyard looks like!

If you’ve been to a wedding that ido has coordinated in 2010, you’ve likely seen Ms. Hensley behind the scenes! Starting in August, you’ll also see another new face at weddings and on the blog, but for now I want to ‘formally introduce’ Hensley to you!
Hensley Rector is a resident of the Lake Cumberland area and graduated from Monticello High School in 2009. She is currently attending Somerset Community College, where she plans to later transfer to Eastern Kentucky University to major in Fashion Merchandising and Design. She spends her time volunteering for the March of Dimes organization and Cell Phones for Soldiers foundation. She enjoys photography, scrapbooking, and pageantry.

I got a call from Laura’s Mom in mid-February after the Bridal Show. She wasn’t entirely sure what I did, but she knew she wanted to be stress free on Laura’s wedding day. I met with Laura’s Mom several times before I ever met Laura.
Laura is by far one of the most awesome Brides I’ve ever worked with. She knew exactly what she wanted and knew it would all come together and if there was a bump in the road, she would see the best in things and laugh about it. She was literally always smiling.
Rehearsal went great, the morning of the wedding was going perfect, everyone was there on time, some vendors were even early…. until Laura’s Mom came to find me and her dress zipper was broken. What was her Mom’s reason for hiring a planner: so her day would be stress free too! Needless to say, we thought out several options and Laura called in a friend to sew her Mom into her dress. Lets just say that dress wasn’t going anywhere! Everything worked out and Laura’s wedding was amazing. I don’t always get to watch the ceremony or see the Bride & Groom leave the ceremony, but she literally came bouncing down the aisle as if she owned the world and that’s what ever Bride should feel like!
